WHAT IS A VIRTUAL ASSISTANT?
A Virtual Assistant (VA) is typically a self-employed administrator and or executive admin professional who works remotely, usually from home, providing general administration. Most VA's also offer specialized areas of expertise like marketing, accounting, customer care, consulting, concierge services, etc. Some focus on specific industries as well.
Virtual Assistants are self-employed, so you do not have to worry about taxes, insurance and other overhead costs associated with having an in-house administrator. Also, there is no wasted money with downtime or trying to fill your administrator’s time. Virtual Assistants can be used on a per project basis or on an ongoing basis to outsource some of the time-consuming tasks so you can focus on what you need or want to. They typically work on a contract basis and can communicate via a number of resources such as email, conference/phone calls and virtual workspaces.
